  • Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Recognized By CSCAA For Academic Excellence

    NORFOLK, Va. (June 22) – The MIT men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams received Scholar All-America Team honors for academic excellence during the spring of 2017, as announced by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Wednesday afternoon. The CSCAA honors college and university swimming and diving teams who have attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Both squads have appeared on this list every season since the 2003-04 campaign.
  • Four From MIT Earn CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Awards

    AUSTIN, Texas (June 6) – Four MIT student-athletes – two men and two women - have earned College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America At-Large Division III accolades. Women’s swimming and diving senior Veronika Jedryka (Arlington Heights, Ill.) was placed on the First Team, women’s fencing sophomore Helen Sakharova (Ridgewood, N.J.) and men’s lacrosse senior Harris Stolzenberg (Weston, Fla.) were placed on the Second Team and men’s swimming and diving junior Joshua Tomazin (Austin, Texas) earned a spot on the third team.
  • MIT Receives Four CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Selections

    AUSTIN, Texas (May 11) – Four MIT student-athletes were recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as they were all selected to the Academic All-District Team on Thursday afternoon. Men’s Lacrosse senior Harris Stolzenberg (Weston, Fla.) and men’s swimming and diving junior Joshua Tomazin (Austin, Texas) were repeat honorees, while women’s swimming and diving senior Veronika Jedryka (Arlington Heights, Ill.) and women’s fencing sophomore Helen Sakharova (Ridgewood, N.J.) both made the list for the first time. All four will represent the Engineers on the national ballot and will contend for Academic All-America honors, which will be voted on and released on June 6, 2017.
  • Schneider Breaks School and NEWMAC Record As Men's Swimming And Diving Finishes Eighth At NCAA Championship

    SHENANDOAH, Texas (March 18) - Freshman Gabe Schneider (Santa Monica, Calif.) set a new school and NEWMAC open record with his fourth place in the 200-back as the MIT men's swimming and diving team finished eighth overall with 189 points at this year's NCAA Division III National Championship. Tonight marked the ninth straight year and 12th time overall in program history that MIT has placed in the top-10 as a team at nationals.
  • Edskes and 800 Free Relay Smash School and NEWMAC Records For Men's Swimming and Diving on Night Three Of NCAA Championship

    SHENANDOAH, Texas (March 17) - Freshman Bouke Edskes (Rockville, Md.) continued his excellent trip to nationals with a second NCAA runner-up performance tonight - this time in the 200-fly after completing the feat in the 100-fly a night ago. Additionally, both Edskes and the 800-free relay team smashed both the school record and NEWMAC open record in their respective events. After three days at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championship, MIT is in eighth place as a team with 134 points.

    SHENANDOAH, Texas (March 16) - MIT men's swimming and diving freshman Bouke Edskes (Rockville, Md.) registered a second place finish in the 100-fly, the 400-medley relay team came in eighth and sophomore Brandon McKenzie (Bringantine, N.J.) notched an eighth place finish to highlight the Engineers' efforts on day two of the NCAA Division III National Championship. After two days in the pool, MIT is in eighth place with 88 points.

    SHENANDOAH, Texas (March 15) - Freshman Bouke Edskes (Rockville, Md.) set a new school record and a new NEWMAC open record with his fifth place finish in the 200-IM and junior Joshua Tomazin (Austin, Texas) placed eighth in the 50-free for All-America honors as the No. 4 ranked MIT men's swimming and diving team stands in eighth place after the first day of the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championship.

(March 2) – The MIT men’s swimming and diving team, ranked No. 4 in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III national poll, placed a league-high 12 student-athletes on the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team, when the league announced its selections late last week. Between the men’s and the women’s teams at MIT, the Engineers totaled 26 honorees.

(February 27) – For the second time in as many years and for the second time in his career, Brad Snodgrass has been named as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Diving Coach of the Year. Previously, Snodgrass has earned the league’s Women’s Coach of the Year honor three times (2005, 2007, 2008).

(February 25) – MIT men’s diving freshman Sam Solomon (Rockville, Md.) qualified for the 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship after a fantastic performance on the 1-meter board today at the NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regionals held inside the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center. With Solomon qualified, MIT will have 15 men’s student-athletes at nationals next month.

(February 20) - The MIT men's swimming and diving team took home their ninth consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship after a great fourth day in the pool in Worcester. For his effort in the pool, freshman Bouke Edskes (Rockville, Md.) was named Rookie of the Year as well as Co-Swimmer of the Year, while freshman Sam Solomon (Rockville, Md.) was named Men's Diver of the Year after coming in first place on both boards.

(February 18) - The MIT men's 200 medley relay team shattered the meet record and swam the second fastest time in the country in the final event tonight as the Engineers remain atop the team leaderboard heading into tomorrow's final day. MIT currently stands first with 1004 points and is followed by Coast Guard (745 points), host WPI (715), Wheaton College (446), Babson College (291), Springfield College (290) and Clark University (178).
