Brandon McKenzie Named CollegeSwimming.com Division III National Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Cambridge, Mass. (November 14) – MIT junior Brandon McKenzie (Brigantine, N.J.) has been named as the CollegeSwimming.com Division III National Men's Swimmer of the Week after his outstanding performances against Division I foes Cornell University and Brown University.

On Friday against Cornell, McKenzie finished second with the 200-medley relay team in 1:32.14 and individually touched the wall second in the 200-IM in 1:54.51 and third in the 200-breast in 2:06.09. Then on Saturday at Brown, the junior registered four second place finishes – as the top MIT swimmer in three of the four events. McKenzie notched a time of 1:32.82 with the 200-medley relay team, 57.55 in the 100-breast, 2:06.47 in the 200-breast and 1:56.53 in the 200-IM.

MIT is back in action this weekend with a dual meet at home against WPI and Bowdoin College. Action is expected to get underway at 12:30 from inside the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool.
