Nov. 19, 2005
BRUNSWICK, Maine - MIT swimming and diving made short work of NEWMAC rival Babson College and Bowdoin College in Saturday's three-way dual. The Engineers scored a 183.5-105.5 victory over the Bears, and dominated Babson by a count of 231-62.
The medley relay won for the third time in as many weeks, while Mark Liao and Kalvin Kao went 1-2 in the 1000 free to ignite Tech's impressive attack. The Cardinal and Gray pushed ahead for good on the back of a 1-2-3 sweep in the ensuing 200 free. Josiah Rosmarin led from the gun and touched in at 1:49.92, while Udit Garg and Palmer Rosemond grabbed second and third.
Rosmarin grabbed a second win on the day in the 100 free, while rookie Jeremy Chang swam to first-place finishes in the 50 and 100 breast. The Engineers had two other multiple event winners on the day as Matthieu Fuzellier won the 200 IM and the 100 back, completing the latter circuit in a solid early-season clip of 53.40. Mark Liao also won twice as he completed the distance sweep with an easy victory in the 500 free.
