Van Tilburg and Skalak Named NEWMAC Team of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After their undefeated performance in their last three matches, MIT senior Ken Van Tilburg and freshman Matthew Skalak were recently named New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.

Van Tilburg and Skalak went 3-0 in the No. 1 doubles position, dropping only 10 games as they picked up wins over teams from Salem State College [8-0], Springfield College [8-6] and No. 13 Bowdoin College [8-4]. As a team, the No. 27 Engineers went 2-1, sweeping Salem State (9-0) and handily beating the Pride (8-1), while dropping a 6-3 decision to the nationally-ranked Polar Bears.
