MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – A pair of doubles victories, along with three single wins helped the 10th ranked Bowdoin College claim a 5-1 victory over the MIT men's tennis team this afternoon in the NCAA Division III Tennis Championship regional semifinal at Middlebury College.

BABSON PARK, Mass. – MIT senior Jeffrey Sperling (Los Angeles, Calif.), the 2015 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament Most Outstanding Player, outdueled sophomore Felix Wee (Kenningston Park, Mass.), 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, at number four singles as the second-seeded Engineers edged top-seeded Babson College, 5-4, to claim its 17th consecutive men’s tennis championship on Sunday afternoon at Farwell Courts.

Engineers Hold off Coast Guard, 5-1, to Advance to NEWMAC Championship
BABSON PARK, Mass. – Senior Eugene Oh (Alpharetta, Ga.) and junior Kevin Wang (Havertown, Pa.) won a key tiebreaker at No. 1 doubles as second-seeded MIT defeated the third-seeded U.S. Coast Guard Academy, 5-1, in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men’s tennis semifinal match on Saturday afternoon at Babson College’s Farwell Courts. With the win, MIT is now 14-4 on the year and will play for its 17th straight NEWMAC title on Sunday against top-seeded Babson at 1:00 p.m.
