Hannon & Singer-Clark Named to Capital One Academic All-America Second Team
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second year in a row, two members of the MIT men's track and field team were named to the Capital One Academic All-America team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Kyle Hannon (Park Ridge, Ill.) and sophomore Tyler Singer-Clark (Falmouth, Mass.) were both named to the second team.

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The MIT men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday evening. The Engineers concluded the three-day meet at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse tied for 54th place with four points.

Engineers Fare Well on Day Two of NCAA Championships
LA CROSSE, Wis. - On the second day of competition at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the MIT men's track and field team were represented by just two athletes, freshman States Lee (Charlotte, N.C.) and senior Patrick Marx (Grand Rapids, Minn.). Lee competed in the 400m, while Marx ran the 800m.

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Seven members of the MIT men's track and field team traveled to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. On the first day of competition, the Engineers performed well, sending two relays to finals on Saturday night.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seven members of the MIT men’s track and field team will be making the trip to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Championships will commence this Thursday, May 23 and will run through Saturday, May 25.

MIT Men's Track & Field Moves up to Place 5th at ECACs
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – On the second and final day of competition at the ECAC Division III Championships at Springfield College on Friday afternoon, the MIT men’s track and field team finished well, placing highly in a number of events. The Engineers wrapped up the weekend in fifth place with 40 points, moving up significantly from where they sat yesterday.

Four Engineers Compete in First Day of ECACs
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The MIT men’s track and field team opened competition at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Springfield College on Thursday afternoon. A small number of Engineers were sent to the two day meet in hopes of improving on their performances in time for the upcoming NCAA Championships. MIT wrapped up the first day four-way tied for 20th with five points.

Engineers Complete NEICAAAs in 8th Place
EASTON, Mass. - The MIT men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the New England Outdoor Championships with an eighth place finish with 36.50 points. The Engineers finished just ahead of New Hampshire with 35 points. Southern Connecticut State came in first place with 159 points.

Men's Track and Field Completes First Day of NEICAAAs
EASTON, Mass. - Over the weekend, a handful of the MIT men's track and field team traveled to Stonehill College for the New England Outdoor Championships, held from Thursday through Saturday, May 9-11. After the first official day of competition, the Engineers are currently four-way tied for 18th place with 4.5 points.

NEWMAC Announces Spring Academic All-Conference Awards
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A league-leading 60 athletes represented MIT on the 2013 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Spring Academic All-Conference Team. The Engineers finished the year with a conference-high 145 selections, followed by WPI with 101.

Men's Track & Field Finishes N.E Div. III Champs in 2nd Place
WATERVILLE, Maine - The MIT men's outdoor track and field team remained in second place on the final day of the New England Division III Championships that were held at Colby College over the weekend, finishing with 143 points, just one point behind first place-finishing Bates College with 144. Last year, the Engineers finished first, breaking Williams College's eight-year undefeated streak.

MIT's Michael Kaba Named NEWMAC Rookie of the Year at Track & Field Champs
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – At the conclusion of the 2013 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Track and Field Championships at Springfield College on Saturday, freshman Michael Kaba (Jackson, N.J.) was named the NEWMAC Rookie of the Year for his performances at the meet. This is the second year in a row that an MIT athlete has received the award.

Engineers Claim 14th Straight NEWMAC Championship
SRINGFIELD, Mass. - At the 2013 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Track and Field Championships, the MIT men's outdoor track and field team finished first for the 14th year in a row with 290 points. WPI was second with 215 and Coast Guard was third with 114.

MIT Men's Track and Field Sends Two to Larry Ellis Memorial Invitational
Princeton, N.J. - With the last-minute cancellation of the MIT Spring Invitational on Saturday, only a handful of the members of the MIT men's track and field team competed this past week. On Wednesday and Thursday, three decathletes traveled to Holy Cross, while, on Thursday evening, a few others traveled to Princeton for the Larry Ellis Memorial Invitational, which took place the following night.

MIT Men's Track and Field Finishes First at Meet Against Bates, Colby and USM
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - At its second home meet in the past two weeks, the MIT men's outdoor track and field team finished in first place with 246.5 points. Bates College was close behind in second place with 229, the University of Southern Maine was third with 115.5 and Colby College was fourth with 85 points.

Men's Track and Field Finishes First in Engineer's Cup
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT men's track and field team finished in first place with 180 points at the Engineer's Cup, which took place on the MIT campus on Saturday afternoon. RPI was second with 128.5 and WPI was third with 97.5. Nine different Engineers took first place in various events, as did the 4x100 relay and the 4x400 relay.

Men's Outdoor Track & Field Finishes 2nd at Westmont Collegiate Classic
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The MIT men's outdoor track and field team officially opened its season at the Westmont Collegiate Classic on Saturday as part of its spring trip. Out of the six teams taking part in the meet, the Engineers finished in second place with 77.50 points, ahead of La Verne with 70 and behind host Westmont with 128.

Zachary Haupt Steps Down as Track & Field Assistant Coach
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It was recently announced that Zachary Haupt, MIT’s assistant track and field coach who works primarily with the athletes competing in jumps, will be stepping down from his position at the conclusion of the outdoor season in May.

MIT Men's Track & Field Concludes Indoor Season With Showing at NCAAs
NAPERVILLE, Ill. - To conclude the indoor season, the MIT men's track and field team traveled to North Central College to take part in the 2013 NCAA Championship, that took place this Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, the Engineers raced in the Distance Medley Relay, while on Saturday, they competed in the 4x400 relay.

MIT Men's Track and Field Perform Well at Tufts
BOSTON, Mass. - This weekend, the MIT men's indoor track and field team traveled to three different locations for three different meets in hopes of qualifying more athletes for the NCAA Championships that will take place next weekend. A handful of Engineers competed in the Last Chance Meet at Tufts, performing well against some tough competition.

MIT Men's Track and Field Return to National Rankings
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the final U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll that was released on Wednesday afternoon, the MIT men’s indoor track and field team are ranked 23rd in the nation, behind Carthage College and ahead of the University of Southern Maine. The Engineers moved up an impressive 36 places from the Feb. 20 ranking.

Men's Track & Field Breaks 20 Year Old Record at N.E. Champs
BOSTON, Mass. - After the second day of the New England Indoor Championships that were held at Boston University this weekend, the MIT men's track and field team finished in 18th place out of 31 teams with 11 points. They came in just one point behind the University of Southern Maine. Connecticut College came in first with 164.50 points

BOSTON, Mass. - After the first day of the New England Championships that are being held at Boston University this Friday and Saturday, the MIT men's indoor track and field team are sitting in ninth place out of 19 teams, just one point behind American International and Bowdoin, who are tied for seventh.

MIT Men's Track & Field Win New England Division III Championship Title
LEWISTON, Maine - The MIT men's track and field team traveled to Bates College to compete in the New England Division III Championships on Friday and Saturday. The Engineers finished in first place out of 21 teams, scoring 118.50 points. This is the third time in four years that MIT has walked away with the title. Host Bates came in second with 94 points and Tufts University was a close third with 92.

MEDFORD, Mass. – On Monday afternoon, after the snowstorm had cancelled all of the meets they were planning to attend, the No. 13 MIT men’s track and field team traveled to Tufts University for the second time in a week to compete in the Cupid Challenge. The Engineers performed well against many top athletes in the area, ending the day with a number of impressive races under their belts.

MIT Men’s Track and Field Continue to Improve in National Rankings
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In the weekly polls that are released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the MIT men’s track and field team continue to move up the list. The Engineers, who were ranked 16th in the preseason poll, have moved up to 12th in the span of a month.

MIT Men's Track & Field Finishes First at Tufts
MEDFORD, Mass. - The No. 14 MIT men's track and field team competed well at the Tufts Stampede this weekend, finishing in first place out of the 20 teams that competed. The Engineers finished with 162 points, leaving a fairly large gap between themselves and Williams College, who came in second place with 85.5 points.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - At the official opening of the 2013 season, the MIT men's track and field team competed in the Harvard Challenge, finishing in fifth place with 43 points, narrowly behind Brown with 46 points.

Justin Bullock Sets New MIT Track and Field Record in 3,000m Run
BOSTON, Mass. - Junior Justin Bullock (Detroit, Mich.) finished in third place at Northeastern University's Jay Carisella Track and Field Invitational, held at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. He crossed the line in 8:19.12, breaking the MIT record of 8:20.69 set by Ben Schmeckpeper in 2005.
