CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Coming on the heels of one of the most successful campaigns in Institute history, MIT placed 11th among all Division III schools in the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) annual Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup. This was the highest ranking for the Engineers in the 14-year history of the program and the first time they were the best performers in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior pole vaulter Greg Tao became the 162nd CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America in MIT history with his selection to the Men’s Track and Field and Cross Country Second Team this morning. Tao, who is a two-time Academic All-District honoree, recently graduated from the Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering while carrying a 4.7/5.0 GPA. READ MORE

BAREA, Ohio – Despite sending just four competitors to the meet, the MIT men’s track and field team received impressive performances from those athletes en route to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Stephen Morton was named the Field Athlete of the Meet, thanks in large part to his National Championship win in the long jump, to help the Cardinal and Gray total 27 points, just one behind third-place Wisconsin-La Cross.
