
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. The MIT mens and womens track & field teams will travel to Greencastle, Ind. this weekend to compete in the NCAA Division III Championship to be held on Friday and Saturday at DePauw University. Both teams enter the meet ranked highly in the National polls and hope to achieve historic success at the Championship. The MIT women come in as the No. 2 team in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings while the men currently sit at No. 7 in the nation. A pair of MIT track and field student-athletes, along with two Tech coaches, were honored on Tuesday as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year. The MIT mens team, which recently captured its 11th New England Division III Indoor Championship, received individual accolades for senior Stephen Morton, head coach Halston Taylor and assistant coach, Katherine Bright. NORTHAMPTON, Mass. With the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship just a week away, the MIT mens and womens track and field teams headed to Smith College for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship meet. The womens squad, who recently moved up to No. 2 in the country, the highest ranking in program history, finished 11th of 43 scoring teams with a limited number of entrants. On the mens side, the No. 11 Engineers complied 16 points among just four scoring competitors, to place 17th overall. READ MORE
