Uzoma Orji Breaks NCAA Record In the Weight Throw

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Uzoma Orji opened his run at a second consecutive NCAA Field Athlete of the Meet honor by setting a new national record in the 35-pound weight throw at the 2005 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Orji threw a career and NCAA best 64'9" in Friday's trials.

 

Orji will have a chance to improve his mark at finals, while also competing in the shot put, an event he won at the indoor national championships last year.
