Uzoma Orji Selected ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Athlete of the Year

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior Uzoma Orji capped off his incredible athletic career at MIT by being named the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Men's Track and Field and Cross Country Athlete of the Year. A runner-up for this accolade on last year's ballot, he collected his third consecutive First-Team selection. Orji, a 12-time All-America, has won four national titles and has been chosen the NCAA National Championship Field Athlete of the Meet on four occasions. Previous Engineers who have received the Academic All-America Athlete of the Year award include track and field man William Singhose `90 and football players Rod Tranum `93 and Brad Gray `98.
