No. 6 MIT Breaks Record in Win over Regis

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In its first action following spring break, the nationally-ranked No. 6 MIT men's volleyball team defeated NECVA New England Division foe Regis College, 30-11, 30-16, 30-11, on Wednesday. The victory raised the Engineers' ledger to 28-7 on the year, breaking the Institute mark for wins in a season. In league action, the Cardinal and Gray improved to 13-2 and currently rank second in the standings.

Troy Tamas paced MIT with 12 kills to go along with three aces and two blocks. Jeremy Velazquez recorded six kills and five aces while Alex Becherer racked up seven digs, six kills, and three aces. In one set, Mike Demyttenaere posted six kills and two assists as his brother, Robin, added five kills and an ace. Matt Hohenberger chipped in three aces, two kills, and a block in the opening frame. Patrick Vatterott contributed two blocks as Eric Reuland collected a team-high eight digs. Caine Jette tallied 25 assists, six aces, and a block while Tim Lee dished out 13 assists. As a team, the Engineers compiled 27 aces and a .468 hitting percentage.
