Yize Dong Named UVC Player of the Week

Elmira, N.Y. (February 20) – Sophomore Yize Dong (Moraga, Calif.) of the MIT men's volleyball team was selected as the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Player of the Week on Monday. Playing in three of the Engineers' four victories during the past week, he totaled 94 assists, 23 digs, three blocks, and two aces while MIT hit .313.

In a 3-0 win over Emerson College last Tuesday, Dong totaled 27 assists, six digs, and a block as the Engineers hit .240. He followed this up with 32 assists and 11 digs as MIT hit .282 in a sweep of nationally-ranked #7 Kean University on Friday. The next day Dong generated 35 assists, six digs, five kills, two aces, and two blocks while the Engineers hit .418 in a 3-0 victory over Elms College.

The Cardinal and Gray (15-3, 2-0 UVC) concludes its home stand on Thursday, Feb. 23 against #12 Lasell College. First serve is at 7:00 p.m.
