CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Playing for the first time in Rockwell Cage, the MIT men's volleyball team defeated Emmanuel College, 30-23, 31-33, 20-30, 30-26, 15-12, in the season-opener for both squads on Wednesday night.
Rookies Ryan Dean, Praveen Pamidimukkala, and Matthew Ng each had a solid showing for the Engineers (1-0, 1-0 NECVA) in their first collegiate match. Dean tallied a team-high 17 digs and two aces and added 10 kills. Pamidimukkala registered 21 kills while Ng posted 16 digs. Rob McAndrew paced Tech with 27 kills and 11 assisted blocks while contributing eight digs. Jordan Wan and Michelangelo Raimondi each registered five assisted blocks while Wan totaled 57 assists and eight digs.
