CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Competing in back-to-back Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division contests, the No. 4 MIT men’s water polo team split both games, falling to No. 18 Harvard University, 12-7, before defeating Connecticut College, 13-7.

Late Fourth Quarter Goal Lifts No. 19 Harvard Past MIT, 12-10
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University sophomore Dan Stevens (Newport Beach, Calif.) halted MIT’s late fourth quarter rally with his only goal of the contest with 33 seconds remaining as the Crimson defeated the Engineers, 12-10, in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division play on Wednesday evening.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – MIT's water polo team concluded their weekend at the Bruno Fall Classic with an exciting 12-10 victory over No. 16 Sant Clara University. Tech outscored the Broncos, 7-5, during the final two periods and received fourth quarter strikes from juniors Zach Nelson (La Jolla, Calif.) and Matthew Orton (Los Altos, Calif.), and freshman Kyle Archer (Clovis, Calif.).

MIT Ends Princeton Univ. Tournament With A Win Against Iona
PRINCETON, N.J. – MIT’s water polo team concluded its first weekend of competition by fending off a late rally its final match to earn a 16-13 victory over Iona College on Sunday afternoon at the Princeton University Tournament. Tech concluded the weekend 1-1, and picked up a 14-13 exhibition victory against Diablo Valley College, which occurred prior to their win against the Gaels.

Andriole Named Interim Head Coach of MIT Water Polo Program
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT Director of Athletics, Julie Soriero, has announced that David Andriole will be the interim Head Coach of the Engineers’ water polo program. He replaces Ivan Ivovic, who has resigned from the position.
