No. 4 MIT Men's Water Polo Earns At-Large Bid to CWPA Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After winning two of three games last weekend at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division Championship, the No. 4 MIT men's water polo team earned an at-large bid to this upcoming CWPA Championship, as announced on Tuesday, November 11. The United States Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Maryland, will be the site of this year's championship, beginning on Friday, November 21 and concluding on Sunday, November 23.

MIT, which earned the 10th seed, will compete against No. 3 Johns Hopkins University (the seventh seed) on Friday, November 21 at 11:20 a.m. Tech defeated the Blue Jays earlier this season at the Division III Eastern Championships on Sunday, October 19, 14-10, at Washington & Jefferson College.

This year's championship will feature 20 games with eight occurring on Friday and six on both Saturday and Sunday. 12 teams will be competing, including six teams from the Northern and Southern Divisions. Brown University, which captured the Northern Division Championship, is the top seed, and Princeton University, the Southern Division champion, is the second seed.
