Collegiate Water Polo Association Announces 2005-06 All-Academic Teams

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced its 2005-06 Men's All-Academic Team on Monday. With a team GPA of 3.40, MIT topped the list of varsity programs receiving honors.

"I am very proud to represent a team that is so dedicated to both academics and athletics," said head coach Felix Mercado.

In addition to the team award, eight of MIT's athletes garnered individual accolades. According to the CWPA, athletes could have a GPA that was "Outstanding" (3.71-4.0), "Superior" (3.41-3.70) or "Excellent" (3.20-3.40). Among the individuals recognized at MIT, sophomore Robert Truax was recognized as "Outstanding," junior David Dryjanski, seniors John Rogers and Mark Liao "Superior" and senior Grady Snyder, sophomore Harrison Hall, junior Philip Cassel and sophomore Davin Fan "Excellent."
