Felix Mercado Named CWPA Div. III Coach of the Year

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - MIT men's water polo head coach Felix Mercado was honored as the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Coach of the Year following the conclusion of the Division III Eastern Championship this past weekend in Erie, Pa.

Additionally, senior Kevin Amendt was named to the CWPA All-Division III First Team, while junior Morgan Laidlaw and freshman Devin Lewis were both named to the Second Team.

Mercado is serving in his second year as head coach of MIT water polo.

The honors came just a week before the squad will take part in the CWPA Northern Division Championship at Harvard University on Saturday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29.
