CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - By just qualifying for the Division III national wrestling tournament, MIT heavyweight standout Glenn Geesman had already accomplished the remarkable. But what the junior sensation achieved Friday night at the U.S. Cellular Center was beyond extraordinary. In the late evening hours, MIT's most prolific muscleman was hailed as an NCAA All-American after pinning his opponent from York College in 2:27. GORHAM, Maine - Adding another achievement to an already extraordinary campaign, prolific muscleman Glenn Geesman qualified for the Division III national tournament after bringing down the house - literally and figuratively - with five pins to win the New England College Conference Wrestling Association (NECCWA) heavyweight championship this past weekend. Geesman, who hails from Aptos, Calif., will take his nationwide status to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in two weeks, after delivering an almost perfect performance, in which he posted a 6-1 record, including the five wins by fall that give him 21 pins for the season. The junior sensation ranks in the top three in the country in pins in all divisions, while sporting an uncanny 31-5 ledger. Read More
