    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A league-leading 57 athletes represented MIT on the 2012 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Fall Academic All-Conference Team. Criteria includes a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale, achieving second year academic status at his or her institution, and being a member of a varsity team for the entire season.

    NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - MIT men's cross country, which is ranked seventh in New England, captured its 15th consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championship title on Saturday afternoon. The Engineers have won every year since the inception of the conference in 1998.

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After an impressive performance at the season-opening Keene State Invitational on Saturday, junior Roy Wedge (Lawrence, Kan.) was named the NEWMAC Runner of the Week on Monday. Wedge won the 5k in 15:46, finishing just three seconds before sophomore Benjamin Xie (El Dorado Hills, Calif.).
  • MIT Cross Country Teams Lend Helping Hand to Boston Harbor Association

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Members of the MIT Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams stepped off of the trails and spent an afternoon volunteering with The Boston Harbor Association. By partnering with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the MIT Public Service Center, about 30 members from the two teams helped with storm drain stenciling.

    KEENE, N.H. – MIT started the men’s cross country season in fine style at the Keene State Alumni Invitational where the Engineers won the team competition over 11 other teams. Junior Roy Wedge (Lawrence, Kan.) won the individual title to lead the Engineers to the team win.
  • MIT Cross Country 2012 Schedule Announced

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT’s cross country program announced its 2012 schedule, a seven-meet lineup, all of which take place on the road. The season officially begins when the teams travel to the Keene State Invitational on September 1. Two weeks later, they compete at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, where both the squads finished atop the standings last year.
