Benji Xie enters his first season as an assistant coach of the MIT men's and women's cross country programs. Xie graduated from MIT in 2015 with a degree in computer science.
Xie served as captain for the MIT men's cross country team for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, leading the engineers to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, where they placed 8th in 2014. He has earned All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, All-Region, and Academic All-Region accolades as a member of the MIT Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
Xie is currently pursuing a Master's of Engineering degree in computer science at MIT, researching with the App Inventor team out of the MIT Center for Mobile Learning.
