Louise van den Heuvel enters her second season as an assistant coach of the MIT men’s and women’s cross country coaching staff following a decorated four years on the track and trails at MIT.
As a three-time All-American, former team captain van den Heuvel brings significant experience having competed at the NCAA Division III Championships for both cross country and track and field throughout her career as an Engineer. A finalist for the 2014 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award, van den Heuvel majored in mechanical engineering and earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors three years in a row.
Van den Heuvel is working towards her Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, focusing in the Computational Fabrication Gropu in CSAIL.
