Babson Defeats MIT, 58-41

BABSON PARK, Mass. - The Babson College women's basketball team completed a regular season sweep of visiting MIT with a 58-41 win in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Beavers improved to 10-9 overall and 6-2 in the conference, while the Engineers slipped to 3-15 overall and 0-8 in the NEWMAC.

Caitlin Boulier led all players with 18 points, as she shot 7-for-12 from the field, including a 4-for-8 clip from three-point range. Suzy Ward added 11 points and six rebounds, and Colleen Burke tossed in eight points and collected a team-high nine boards.

Clara Yuan paced MIT with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Christa Margossian grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds for the Engineers.

MIT stayed close throughout the first half, and then trailed by only one (30-29) less than a minute into the second half. However, Babson pulled away with a 13-1 run over the next six minutes, highlighted by back-to-back threes by Boulier. The Engineers would get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way as the Beavers clinched the victory.
