Women’s Lightweight Crew Completes Season at IRA Championships
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A trip across the country to California completed the 2012-13 season for the MIT women’s lightweight crew team, where the Engineers competed in the 111th Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship. MIT took both Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 crews to Sacramento for the competition, which was held on Lake Natoma.

Lightweight 8 Takes Silver at Dad Vail Regatta
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After earning a bronze medal at the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta last year, the MIT lightweight varsity 8 crew moved up a notch this year, earning a silver medal on the waters of the Schuylkill River this afternoon.

Lightweight Crew Has Strong Outing in Muri Cup
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Moving up to sixth in the most recent national rankings, the highest ever for MIT, the Engineers women’s lightweight crew squad took on No. 1 ranked Harvard-Radcliffe in the battle for the Muri Cup. Harvard took the Cup in the Varsity 8 race and also won 2V event, with the Engineers picking up a win in the Novice 4 competition.

Women’s Lightweight Crew Posts Solid Results in Close Racing at the Knecht Cup
CHERRY HILL, N.J. – It was a good weekend for the MIT women’s lightweight crew team at the Knecht Cup races held on the Cooper River. The Engineers advanced boats to the finals in both the lightweight eight and lightweight four races, taking fourth in each event in a pair of very competitive races.

Women’s Lightweight Opens Spring Season at Beanpot
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rowing for the first time in the spring season, the MIT women’s lightweight team competed in the annual Beanpot against crews from Boston University and Harvard-Radcliffe on the Charles River this morning. The Engineers had a total of three crews in action on their home course, racing a pair of Varsity 8 boats and as well as a Novice 4.

Women’s Lightweight Crew Closes Fall Season
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Back at home on the Charles River, the MIT women’s lightweight crew team completed the fall portion of its 2012-13 schedule by competing in the Foot of the Charles regatta. The Engineers had two entries in the Varsity Four race, the primary competition of the event, with the “A” boat turning in the best showing with a 27th-place finish.

Women’s Lightweight Crew Rows at Dartmouth
HANOVER, N.H. – MIT’s women’s lightweight crew team send a squad of novice rowers to compete in the Dartmouth Green Monster Regatta this weekend. The Engineers, who were just one of two lightweight crews in the field, held their own in the three-mile event on the Connecticut River.

Women’s Lightweight Crew Opens Strong at Head of the Charles
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It was a strong start to the 2012-13 crew season for the MIT women’s lightweight crew team as the Engineers kicked off the fall portion with a pair of entries in the famous Head of the Charles regatta. On Saturday the team fielded a boat in the Women’s Club Fours and then had an entry on Sunday in the Women’s Lightweight Eights.

MIT Crew Set to Open 2012-13 Season at The Head of the Charles Regatta
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Crew season officially opens this weekend for the MIT crew teams as all four will have entries in one of the most famous regattas in the world, the annual Head of the Charles competition. MIT will have crews in action on both Saturday and Sunday in the world’s largest two-day rowing event.

Women’s Lightweight Crew Announces 2012-13 Freshman Class
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A group of six incoming freshmen will be added to the roster of the MIT Women’s Lightweight Crew program the coaching staff has announced. The class will add their talents to a program that finished the 2011-12 season ranked No. 8 in the country.
