WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – In the season finale for the MIT women’s lightweight crew team, the Engineers made an appearance at the 2014 Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships, held on Lake Mercer. MIT qualified both its Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 boats, with both crews starting action on Saturday.
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After winning bronze and then silver medals over the last two seasons, the MIT women’s lightweight varsity 8 crew moved up to gold medal status at the 2014 Dad Vail Regatta, capturing the top spot this afternoon on the Schuylkill River.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT’s women’s lightweight crew team took on Radcliffe in the annual Muri Cup competition on the Charles River on Sunday morning. The team’s competed in a pair of races in eights as well as fours, with Radcliffe taking all four to capture the Cup.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Back on its home waters of the Charles River, the MIT women’s lightweight crew took part in the Lightweight Invitational Regatta this morning. The Engineers picked up one victory in the racing, with the Novice 4 crew defeating Harvard-Radcliffe.
WEST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. – It was a solid weekend of racing for the MIT women’s lightweight crew team as the Engineers competed at the annual Knecht Cup races. MIT finished the weekend advancing the Varsity 8 crew and a pair of lightweight fours to their respective final events on the Mercer Lake course.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Just a couple of weeks removed from the Charles River losing its ice, the MIT women’s lightweight crew team opened the 2014 portion of its season this morning by hosting the annual Beanpot competition between the Engineers and crews from Boston University and Harvard-Radcliffe.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – At home on the Charles River, the MIT women’s lightweight crew team finished up the fall portion of its 2013-14 schedule with several crews entered in the Foot of the Charles competition. The Engineers had three entries in the Varsity 4+ event, along with crews in the Novice 8 and Varsity 8 (3V) races.
HANOVER, N.H. – MIT’s women’s lightweight crew team took its annual trek to Hanover, New Hampshire to compete in the Dartmouth Green Monster event on the Connecticut River. The Engineers, who were the only lightweight team to field crews, had two boats in the event that features novice crews.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On a sunny autumn day in New England the MIT women’s lightweight crew team opened its 2013-14 season at the annual Head of the Charles regatta. As they did last year, the Engineers had entries in the Women’s Lightweight Fours and the Women’s Lightweight Eights, with both teams posting solid results to kick off the season.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A total of 12 members of the MIT women’s openweight and lightweight rowing teams were honored for their academic success by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) when the organization released its list of Scholar Athletes for 2013. Seven members of the openweight team made the list and were joined by five rowers from the lightweight team.
