MIT Places 17 on Patriot League Women’s Rowing Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – MIT saw 17 members of its 2011-12 women's openweight crew team named to the Patriot League Women's Rowing Academic Honor Roll the conference announced this week. The Engineers were fourth among the league schools with their 17 selections.

MIT's selections were led by senior Tess Saxton-Fox (Wayland, Mass.), who was chosen as Patriot League 2012 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in May. Saxton-Fox, a mechanical engineering major, carries a 4.9 GPA and is a member of MIT's Varsity 8 crew that placed second at the 2012 Patriot League championship. Sophomore Erin Meyer (Austin, Texas), the #6 seat in the Varsity 8 boat, was also among the selections after posting a perfect 5.0 GPA, one of 11 student-athletes from around the Patriot League posted perfect GPAs.

To be eligible for the spring Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
