MIT Openweight Crew Finishes Fourth at Patriot League Championships
WORCESTER, Mass. – MIT’s openweight crew team capped off the 2012-13 regular season this morning at the Patriot League Championships held on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester. Aided by a third-place finish by the Varsity 8 crew, the Engineers finished fourth in the final team standings with 20 points, trailing third-place Holy Cross by just three. Navy won the championship with 35 points, with Bucknell second with 29.

Openweight Crew Rows at EAWRC Sprints
CHERRY HILL, N.J. – MIT’s women’s openweight crew teams competed today at the annual EAWRC Sprints, held this year on the Cooper River. The Engineers finished 11th in the Willing Point Trophy competition, totaling 22 points.

MIT Openweight Crew Competes at Annual Beanpot Regatta
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rowing for the second time this weekend, the MIT women’s openweight crew team took part in the annual Beanpot Regatta on the Charles River this morning. The Engineers raced a pair of varsity 8 and varsity 4 crews against teams from Radcliffe, Boston University, Holy Cross, Boston College and Northeastern. Overall MIT finished fifth in the Beanpot point standings.

Openweight Crew Takes On BC, BU and URI
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After seeing its schedule upended by the recent events in Boston, the MIT women’s openweight crew team was back in action on the Charles River, taking on crews from Boston College, Boston University and Rhode Island. BU won both races in the eights, with URI taking the Varsity 4 event.

MIT Openweight Crew Picked Picks Up Four Wins at GW Invitational
WASHINGTON, D.C. – It was a successful weekend for the MIT women’s openweight crew team at the George Washington Invitational. The Engineers scored four individual race victories, including three by the Varsity 8 squad. The wins helped MIT to a third-place finish among six teams in the Howard W. Wilkins Bowl standings.

Openweight Crew Edged Out by Boston College
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In its first action of the spring season, the MIT women's openweight crew team took on crews from Boston College in three events on the Charles River today. In the Varsity 8 competition it was a close one between the Engineers and the Eagles, with the edge going to BC be less than a second at the finish.

MIT Openweight Crew Picked Third in Preseason Patriot League Poll
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – MIT’s women’s openweight crew team was selected to finish third in the 2013 Patriot League standings in a preseason poll voted on by the league’s head coaches and sports information directors and released today. The Engineers received 33 points in the poll, with Bucknell and Navy taking the top two spots.

Foot of the Charles Event Closes Out Fall Season for Openweight Crew
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On a fall day with excellent weather for a regatta, the MIT women’s openwieght crew team concluded its fall season with an appearance at the Foot of the Charles. In an event that features Varsity Four boats and both openweight and lightweight crews, the Engineers had their best finish in the Varsity Fours with its “A” boat taking 26th overall.

Women’s Openweight Crew Competes at Dartmouth Green Monster
HANOVER, N.H. – On a crisp, fall day in New England the MIT women’s openweight crew team competed in its third regatta of the fall season, sending a pair of novice crews to the Dartmouth Green Monster race. The Engineers fared well, placing eighth and 13th overall.

Women’s Openweight Crew Opens Season at Head of the Charles
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – It was the official start of the crew season for the MIT women’s openweight crew team this afternoon as the Engineers competed in the prestigious Head of the Charles regatta. The Engineer’s varsity team participated in the Women’s Championship Eights event, one of 40 entries in the completion.

MIT Crew Set to Open 2012-13 Season at The Head of the Charles Regatta
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Crew season officially opens this weekend for the MIT crew teams as all four will have entries in one of the most famous regattas in the world, the annual Head of the Charles competition. MIT will have crews in action on both Saturday and Sunday in the world’s largest two-day rowing event.

MIT Names Previn Chandraratna as Women’s Openweight Crew Assistant
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT has announced that Previn Chandraratna has joined the women’s openweight crew coaching staff as the team’s novice coach. He replaces Aaron Benson who was recently named the head coach at the University of Puget Sound.
