Women’s Openweight Crew Races at Princeton
PRINCETON, N.J. – In its second outing of the young season, the MIT women's openweight crew team took to the waters of Lake Carnegie for the Princeton 3-Mile Chase today. The Engineers had both an A and a B crew in the Women's Varsity 8+ race.
MIT's A crew had a nearly identical finish to a year ago, coming in 32nd among the 52 entries with a time of 16:16.742. The Engineers were just a half a second behind a crew from Duke for 31st and less than five seconds away from crews from Brown and Boston University. MIT finished nearly five seconds ahead of the Rhode Island A crew while also bettering A crews from George Washington and Rutgers. MIT's B crew finished 48th with a time of 17:06.301. The Virginia A boat had the best time of the day, taking top honors with its 14:34.417 clocking.
MIT will race again next weekend when it takes to the waters of the Connecticut River in New Hampshire at the Dartmouth Green Monster in Hanover, N.H.
