  • Sayre Named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team

    MIT women’s openweight rowing senior Larkin Sayre (Cambridge, England) has been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team for her athletic and academic performance in 2016-17 for the Engineers.
  • Larkin Sayre, Savannah Inglin Earn All-Patriot League Honors

    MIT women’s openweight rowers Larkin Sayre (Cambridge, England) and Savannah Inglin (Olympia, Wash.) have both earned All-Patriot League honors for their performances last weekend. The All-League teams are based on the teams’ finishes in the Varsity Eight from the Patriot League Rowing Championships, which was held on Friday, May 12 at Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
  • Varsity Eight Places Third, Metcalf Honored as Coach of the Year at Patriot League Championship

    At the 2017 Patriot League Championship on Friday on the Cooper River as the Engineers totaled 33 points to place just three points out of third. On the day, all three MIT boats advanced to the grand final. In addition to the team finish, MIT head coach Holly Metcalf was voted as the Patriot League Coach of the Year.
  • Women's Openweight Crew Competes at the Eastern Sprints

    At the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond, the MIT women’s openweight crew team had its varsity 8 boat advance to the Grand Final, while the second varsity 8 boat competed in the Petite Final. The regatta took place over the 2,000-meter course, with a slight tailwind of 6-8 knots.
  • Women's Openweight Places Second vs. Holy Cross and URI

    In a regatta on Lake Quinsigamond vs. Holy Cross and the University of Rhode Island, the MIT openweight women’s rowing team placed second overall in each of the four races over the 2,000-course with a slight tailwind and light chop.
  • Varsity 8 Leads MIT at the 29th GW Rowing Invitational

    Led by a pair of victories by the MIT varsity 8 boat on Saturday morning, the MIT women’s openweight crew team finished tied for fifth overall with 45 points at the 29th Annual GW Rowing Invitational on the Potomac River. The Engineers were just three points out of third place as the teams were competing for the Howard W. Wilkins Bowl.
  • Openweight Women's Crew Defeats Boston College for First Time Since 2012

    In the MIT vs. Boston College Cup regatta on Sunday, the MIT openweight women’s crew team defeated the Eagles for the first time 2012 as the Engineers led BC from start to finish. The event was rescheduled from Saturday due to the storm that affected the area.
  • Engineers Open Spring Season vs. URI and Coast Guard

    On Saturday on the Charles River, the MIT openweight women’s crew team opened up the 2017 spring racing schedule as the Engineers competed against the University of Rhode Island and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
  • MIT Chosen Fourth in Patriot League Rowing Preseason Poll

    Center Valley, Pa. (March 24) -- The MIT women’s openweight rowing team has been voted fourth in the 2017 Patriot League Preseason Poll, as voted by the league’s coaches and sports information directors. The Engineers picked up 83 points in the poll, while Navy was chosen as the preseason favorite.

    On Sunday on Lake Carnegie in New Jersey, the MIT women’s openweight crew team competed at the Princeton Chase regatta. The Engineers competed in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and the varsity four competition.
