MIT Posts 5-0 Mark at NFC Meet

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - The MIT women's fencing team had a strong showing at the Northeast Fencing Conference dual meet held at the University of New Hampshire, finishing with a record of 5-0.

The Engineers opened the day with a 23-4 win over Boston University and then went on to defeat Wellesley College, 19-8. Tech posted a thrilling 15-12 victory over UMass-Amherst before beating the host Wildcats, 19-8. MIT closed the meet with an 18-9 win over Tufts University.

Susannah Dorfman led the undefeated foil squad with a record of 13-0 while Gemma Mendel finished at 13-2. Rookie Joanna Tong posted a 10-5 mark in epee as teammate Lele Yu registered a ledger of 10-4. Drew Reese had the best performance in the sabre events as she notched an 11-4 record.
