Engineers Get Back on Track With 7-0 Win at Daniel Webster

NASHUA, N.H. - Kameron Klauber notched a hat trick and Katie Kauffman added a goal and two assists guiding MIT past host Daniel Webster College, 7-0, in regional field hockey action Wednesday at Harvey Woods Field.

Kim Barker, Anna Teruya and Danielle Smith added single scores as the Engineers (10-4) halted a two-game skid.

Amy Prince sparkled in goal for the second-year Eagles (5-5), making a career high 16 saves as MIT outshot their hosts 30-3 overall.

Keri Dixon made two saves for MIT to record her third shutout of the year.

Klauber notched two strikes in the first half including the opening score off a Kauffman feed 12:50 into the contest. Teruya upped the lead to 2-0 on a penalty stroke in the 22nd, and Barker added her team leading 12th of the season in the 25th minute.

Smith made it 4-0 with her sixth of the year in the 32nd minute and Klauber made it 5-0 on a penalty stroke with 42 seconds to go before the break.

Kauffman converted a penalty stroke in the 38th and Klauber completed her trio with an unassisted score in the 58th.

The Eagles return to action Saturday hosting Wheelock in an NECC matchup at 1:00 p.m. MIT visits Smith College Saturday at 6:30 p.m., in a game to played at Fermi High School in Enfield, Conn.
