Six Engineers Land on NFHCA National Academic Squad
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Six students from the MIT field hockey team were recently named to the National Academic squad by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Tech was also honored for its team academic success, after posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.36, marking the ninth consecutive year MIT has received the National Academic Team Award.
Seniors Keri Dixon, Jessica Oleinik, Danielle Smith and Alex Wright garnered All-Academic honors for the third year in a row. Michelle Dion and Molly McShane also received the distinction for the first time.
The Engineers were one of 103 teams nationwide to be recognized for their overall academic achievement. Seven New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) teams were honored by the NFHCA.
