CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After making her first collegiate start on Saturday, freshman Jenna Klein (Parma, Ohio) was rewarded as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Week. Klein made 10 saves to help MIT defeat Springfield, 4-2, and earn her first career win in goal.
The freshman goalkeeper was at her best during the second half, stopping eight shots in the frame to help the Engineers hold on to their two-goal advantage. She made three key saves in the final minutes while Tech was killing off a 10-minute yellow card penalty and playing a man down.
On the season, Klein has appeared in eight games and sports a 0.97 goals against average in 216 minutes of action.
