CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Kimberly Barker (Camden, N.Y.) and Molly McShane (Lake Bluff, Ill.) will represent MIT at the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game to be played at William Smith College on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 4:00 p.m. The duo comprises half of the NEWMAC contingent as foes from Babson College and Wellesley College are also slated to participate.
Barker closed her career by setting the MIT records for goals (63) and points (155) while ranking third in assists (29). She is a two-time NEWMAC all-conference second team selection and has been named to the NFHCA New England East Region second team twice. This season, she produced 15 goals and seven assists for 37 points with her goal and points tallies tying for eighth in the NEWMAC.
A four-time NFHCA New England East Region first-team pick, McShane was tabbed for NEWMAC Athlete of the Year honors along with her fourth straight first-team all-conference selection. She posted 10 goals and 17 assists for 37 points this year with her assists total tying for second-best in program history. On MIT's all-time list, McShane tied the record for career assists with 37 and is eighth for career points with 87.
