CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT field hockey team will take on two foes at Jack Barry Field this Saturday – NEWMAC rival Mount Holyoke College and breast cancer. The Engineers will be joining recreational sports programs, middle schools, high schools, and colleges in participating in "Play4theCure", an event sponsored by the National Foundation for Cancer Research that is dedicated to raising funds in support of cancer research.
Fans can contribute to the national effort by ordering sports bras for $25 at the game, purchasing baked goods, or just simply making a donation.
On the field, No. 19 MIT will square off with No. 18 Mount Holyoke in a pivotal NEWMAC contest starting at 1:00 p.m. Both squads are currently tied for second place in the conference standings with one more league game on the schedule.
