BOSTON, Mass. – MIT sophomore Isabella DiDio (Jenkintown, Pa.) was named the NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week after tallying 16 goals, one assist, and 17 draw controls as the Engineers have opened the season with a 3-0 ledger.
In an 18-9 victory over Mount Ida College on March 1, DiDio recorded six goals, nine draw controls, and three groundballs. She followed this up with three goals, one assist, and four groundballs in the second half of an 18-12 win at Lasell College last Tuesday. This past Saturday, DiDio racked up a game-high seven goals and seven draw controls in a 14-12 come-from-behind win over Roger Williams University. She scored six of her seven goals in the second half, including three straight that turned a 10-10 game into a 13-10 lead for MIT with 4:27 left to play.
The Engineers resume their home stand on Tuesday, March 11 when they host Eastern Connecticut State University at 6:00 p.m.
