Katie Notarangelo Named NEWMAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week

Westwood, Mass. (April 17) – MIT senior Katie Notarangelo (Foxboro, Mass.) was tabbed for NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week honors as announced by the league on Tuesday. In a 2-0 week for the Engineers, she tallied 11 goals, 16 draw controls, eight groundballs, and six caused turnovers while converting all six of her free-position attempts.

Tied at 14 with 3:55 remaining in regulation, Notarangelo buried three consecutive free-position shots over the course of three minutes to help MIT defeat Babson College, 17-14, last Wednesday. She finished the day with seven goals, including a 4-of-4 performance from eight meters, while also collecting 10 draw controls and two groundballs. Notarangelo then produced four goals, six groundballs, six draw controls, and five caused turnovers in a 12-11 win at Westfield State University on Saturday night.

The Engineers (7-5, 3-1 NEWMAC) return to action on Wednesday, April 18 when they visit NEWMAC foe Emerson College for a 7:30 p.m. start.
