Emily Young and Katie Notarangelo Receive IWLCA All-Region Honors

Grand Lake, Colo. (May 17) – For the second time in program history the MIT women's lacrosse team had two players selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Region Team on Thursday. Senior Emily Young (La Jolla, Calif.) was voted to the First Team while classmate Katie Notarangelo (Foxboro, Mass.) earned a spot on the Second Team.

Young, a second-team selection the past two seasons, joins Kira Schott '16 as the Engineers' only first-team honorees. This year's NEWMAC Athlete of the Year, Young graduates as MIT's all-time leader in goals (243) and points (312) while ranking second in assists (69) and draw controls (256).

Notarangelo received her first nod from the IWLCA after setting the Institute record for draw controls in a game (15) and closing her career ranked third in draw controls (239), tied for fourth in groundballs (127), fifth in caused turnovers (77), sixth in goals (145), and 10th in points (170). In addition, she is currently seventh in the country in free-position percentage (.733).
