Kate Lombard enters her second season as an assistant coach with the MIT women's lacrosse program. A 2007 graduate of Columbia University, she was a two-year captain for the Lions. Playing in the midfield, Lombard was named second team All-Ivy League twice and received a pair of honorable mention All-Ivy accolades. She collected Academic All-Ivy League honors her senior year to go along with back-to-back second team IWLCA All-Region awards.

Upon graduation, Lombard coached the New Jersey-based Tri-State Club Lacrosse Team comprised of girls enrolled in seventh and eighth grade. She taught players aged 10-18 at several Tri-State camps and was an instructor at the Uptown Lacrosse Camp in New York City targeted for high school athletes.

Lombard received a bachelor's degree in English and comparative literature and then earned a master's degree in sports management from Columbia.
