Women's Lacrosse Nets Trio of NEWMAC All-Conference Awards

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The MIT women's lacrosse team capped its season with three All-Conference selections as announced by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Tuesday. Casey Flynn earned First-Team plaudits while Anna Ayuso and Laura Watson were named to the Second Team.

Flynn paced the Engineers with 36 goals and four assists for 40 points. In addition, she tallied 16 draw controls and 15 groundballs while ranking fifth in the conference in goals per game (3.00) and 10th in points per game (3.33). Watson was second on the squad in scoring with 30 goals and 32 points to go along with 23 groundballs. In the NEWMAC, she placed fifth in goals per game (3.00) and 10th in groundballs per game (2.30).

Ayuso, who earned her second All-Conference accolade, led Tech's defense with 21 caused turnovers and collected 17 groundballs. She finished third all-time at MIT with 89 caused turnovers and ranked third in the NEWMAC in caused turnovers per game (1.75) and seventh in caused turnovers in a season.
