IWLCA Announces Academic Awards

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named the recipients of its team and individual academic awards. MIT qualified for the Division III Merit Squad for the fifth year in a row as it posted the third-highest GPA of 41 programs.

Individually, Sharon Prange and Laura Watson were tabbed for the Academic Honor Roll, marking their first selections. Since the inception of MIT's women's lacrosse program in 1993, the Engineers have had at least one award winner every season.

New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foes Springfield College and Wellesley College were named to the Division III Honor Squad and also had two athletes apiece on the Academic Honor Roll.
