Tech Places Three on NEWISA All-New England Teams
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second consecutive year, three members of the MIT women’s soccer team earned New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Division III All-New England honors. Senior Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) and junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) were selected to the first team and freshman Victoria Gregory (Syracuse, N.Y.) was named to the third team.

Four MIT Soccer Players Selected to Scholar All-East Region Teams
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Four Engineers were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) this week for their accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom. Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) was named to the Scholar All-East Region first team, while classmate Michelle Battipaglia (Katonah, N.Y.) was tabbed to the fourth team.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Scholar All-American, being selected to the third team. She is the first MIT women’s soccer player in program history to ever receive this honor.

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) and senior Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) were selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Soccer All-Star First Team on Friday evening. Krishnamachar was one of four forwards and Dias Carlson was one of six midfielders named to the team.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) was named to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-America Third Team, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) on Friday afternoon. She is just the second MIT women’s soccer player in program history to earn this honor, after Emily Kuo ’13 was also selected to the third team last season.

Nealon and Dias Carlson Selected to Play in NEWISA Senior Bowl
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Kaitlyn Nealon (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) were selected to play in the annual New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) Senior Bowl. The game, which features the best seniors from all three divisions across the region, will be played at the fields of Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Rochester Institute of Technology Advances over MIT in Penalty Kicks at First Round of NCAAs
EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. - At the first round of the 2013 NCAA Division III on Saturday afternoon, the Rochester Institute of Technology advanced over the MIT women's soccer team in penalty kicks, 4-3, following a scoreless 110 minutes of play. This was the third consecutive game the Engineers played that went to penalty kicks. The Tigers improved to 12-4-4 and will play host The College of New Jersey tomorrow afternoon, while MIT ended their season with a record of 13-2-6.

Four Engineers Tabbed to All-Conference Team; Krishnamachar Named NEWMAC Athlete of the Year
BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) was voted as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Athlete of the Year, as was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the fourth time in the last five seasons that the award has gone to an MIT student-athlete and the second consecutive year, after Emily Kuo ’13 earned the honor last year.

Engineers Receive At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second year in a row, the MIT women's soccer team received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, as was announced on Monday afternoon. The Cardinal and Gray will face Rochester Institute of Technology (12-4-3) on Saturday, Nov. 16 at The College of New Jersey. The game will be played at 1:30 p.m.

Springfield Edges MIT in Penalty Kicks to Capture NEWMAC Championship
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second year in a row and fifth time overall, Springfield College was crowned the 2013 NEWMAC Women’s Soccer Champions as they edged out host MIT, 4-3, in a penalty kick shootout following a 0-0 double overtime battle on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Pride (13-4-4) secured a spot in the upcoming NCAA Division III Championship Tournament and will learn about their next opponent when the field is revealed Monday afternoon on www.ncaa.com. The Engineers (13-2-5), meanwhile, hope to make their third straight national appearance courtesy of an at-large selection.

NEWMAC Announces Fall Academic All-Conference Awards
BOSTON, Mass. – A league-leading 62 athletes represented MIT on the 2013 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Fall Academic All-Conference Team. Criteria includes a minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale, achieving second year academic status at his or her institution, and being a member of a varsity team for the entire season.

Ambika Krishnamachar Named NEWMAC Player of the Week for 2nd Consecutive Week
BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) was named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Offensive Player of the Week on Monday following her strong performances this past week. She tallied three goals, two of which were game-winners, and three assists in Tech’s undefeated week to help the women’s soccer team clinch the top seed in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament.

MIT Shares Regular Season Title with Wheaton After win over Coast Guard
NEW LONDON, Conn.-Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) had a hand in all five of MIT’s goals, scoring two and assisting on three, as the women’s soccer team defeated Coast Guard by a score of 5-1 on a warm November Saturday. Tech improved to 13-2-3 on the season and 8-1-1 in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play. With its win, MIT earned a share of the NEWMAC regular season title with Wheaton College.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Seniors Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany, Ohio) and Kaitlyn Nealon (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and sophomore Morgan Moroi (New Albany, Ohio) were named to the Capital One Academic All-District women's soccer team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. They will represent MIT on the national ballot and will contend for Academic All-America honors to be voted on at the end of November.

BOSTON, Mass. - At its second to last regular season game, the MIT women's soccer team defeated New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) newcomer Emerson College by a score of 1-0 on a chilly Tuesday afternoon. Led by junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) who scored the lone goal of the game 24 minutes into the first period, the Engineers held the Lions to just four shots the entire game.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With two goals by junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) and one by sophomore Amma Okwara (Charlotte, N.C.), the MIT women’s soccer team defeated Salem State University by a score of 3-1 on a picturesque Tuesday evening in Cambridge. This was the Engineers' final non-conference game of the season.

Tech improved to 9-2-3 on the season and remains ranked first in the conference with a record of 5-1-1. The Pioneers dipped to 4-7-2 and 2-3-1 in league action.

The Engineers are now 6-2-2 and 2-1 in conference play, while the Lyons dipped to 5-6 and 0-3 in NEWMAC action.

MIT Women's Soccer Moves up National and Regional Rankings
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – MIT women’s soccer made history on Tuesday afternoon with the release of the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) rankings, which saw the Engineers move up seven places from last week’s rankings to sit in 13th in the nation for Division III. This is the highest Tech has ever been ranked.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – In a battle of the Engineers, the #20 nationally ranked MIT women’s soccer team defeated WPI with a score of 3-0 in the first New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game for both teams. Junior Ambika Krishnamachar (Darien, Conn.) scored the game-winning goal 17 minutes into the first half and Tech only got stronger from there.

BRISTOL, R.I. - After taking the lead early in the first half of its game against undefeated #13 Roger Williams University on Tuesday afternoon, the #20 MIT women's soccer team had to battle through two overtime periods after the Hawks tied the score halfway through the second half. The game ultimately ended with a tied score of 1-1.

Lauren Ullmann Named NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Week
BOSTON, Mass. – Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Ullmann (Princeton, N.J.) was named the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. In a week that saw the MIT women's soccer team defeat Tufts University for the first time in series history and tie undefeated Lesley University in double overtime, Ullmann played every minute in net, racking up 200 minutes before the week was done.

MIT Women's Soccer Ties Lesley in Double Overtime, 0-0, For Second Consecutive Year
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Traveling just a few minutes down the road to face fellow Cambridge rival Lesley University on Saturday afternoon, the #22 nationally ranked MIT women's soccer team tied the undefeated Lynx with a score of 0-0 in double overtime, after neither team was able to score during regulation. The Engineers are now 4-1-1 for the season, while the Lynx's record is 6-0-1. The last time MIT and Lesley met in September of 2012, the result of the face off was exactly the same.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Taking a two goal lead late in the first half, the #22 nationally ranked and third regionally ranked MIT women’s soccer team were able to hold on for the remainder of the game to lead the Engineers to a 2-1 win over Tufts University on Tuesday evening. Having only met two times previously, this is the first time in the two teams’ short series history that MIT has defeated Tufts. Tech is now 4-1 for the season, while Tufts fell to 0-2.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – A balanced scoring attack coupled with great defensive tactics led the #20 nationally ranked MIT women’s soccer team to a 5-0 win against Emmanuel College at its second home game of the season on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Annelise Steele (Greenwich, Conn.) led the way with two goals, the first ones of her collegiate season, while senior Rachel Dias Carlson (Albany, N.Y.) racked up three assists.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After scoring the lone goal of the game against Simmons College the night before, senior Michaelann Rodriguez (Florence, Ala.) scored both of MIT's goals against Worcester State University to lead the Engineers to a 2-1 win over the Lancers at home on Tuesday evening. Tech, who is ranked #20 in the latest NSCAA Continental Tire National Rankings and third regionally, is now 2-1 for the season, while Worcester State fell to 1-1.

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Michaelann Rodriguez (Florence, Ala.) scored the lone goal of the day to lead the #15 ranked MIT women's soccer team to a well-fought victory against Simmons College on Monday evening, after the game was rescheduled from Sunday afternoon due to thunderstorms. The Engineers, who opened their season this past weekend, are now 1-1, while the Sharks dipped to 0-1.

MIT Women’s Soccer Kicks off 2013 Season Nationally Ranked
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – MIT women’s soccer will start the 2013 season ranked 15th out of 25 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III preseason ranking that was released on Tuesday. This is the first time in the program’s 28 year history that it has appeared on the preseason rankings list.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The MIT women’s soccer team will welcome 10 new members for the 2013 season, head coach Martin Desmarais announced. Included in the Class of 2017 are student-athletes from Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia.
