      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. &#x2013; Coming on the heels of one of the most successful campaigns in Institute history, MIT placed 11th among all Division III schools in the National Association of College Directors of Athletics (NACDA) annual Learfield Sports Directors&#x2019; Cup. This was the highest ranking for the Engineers in the 14-year history of the program and the first time they were the best performers in the New England Women&#x2019;s and Men&#x2019;s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).</description>

Fox also guided the program to its first wins over several regional opponents, including New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) foe Springfield College.</description>

      <description>CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) recently announced the 2010 NEWMAC Spring Academic All-Conference Team. MIT collected 45 honors, second only to the 46 received by Springfield College. Tech finished the year with a league-high total of 105 awards, edging out Springfield's 102.</description>

      <title>Softball's Season Comes to an End at Coast Guard</title>

      <description>NEW LONDON, Conn. - Sophomore Hayley Feindel became the Bears' all-time strikeouts leader in style as she threw nine perfect innings including a six inning perfect game in game one of a doubleheader and senior Carin Sweeney celebrated Senior Day by hitting the first three home runs of her career and drove in seven runs in game two as Coast Guard, ranked third in New England, hit seven homers in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader sweep of MIT, 8-0 in six innings and 13-5 in five innings. MIT's season came to an end with a final record of 7-19 and 3-13 in the NEWMAC. MIT senior Chelsea Ostrander capped her senior season with the first home run of her career in the fifth inning of game two.</description>

The Lyons won game one, 15-1, before prevailing 15-2 in the second game. The games were the final home contests of the 2010 campaign for the Engineers, who fell to 7-17 (3-11 NEWMAC). Wheaton improved to 17-13 and 5-7 in conference play after the wins.</description>
