BOSTON, Mass. (April 18) – MIT softball sophomore Ravenne Nasser (Methuen, Mass.) has been named as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Pitcher of the Week after aiding the Engineers to a 7-1 week and their 20th win of the spring.

Nasser went 4-1 in five complete game starts - three of which were shutouts - for the Engineers this week. Nasser posted an ERA of 0.82 in 34 innings in the circle that went along with 26 strikeouts and a batting average against of .142. Nasser started the week by blanking Smith, Clark and Coast Guard and then bounced back from a game one loss against Wheaton to defeat the Lyons in a 7.0 inning effort as she gave up just one earned run to allow the Engineers to keep pace in the NEWMAC with just four league games remaining.

Nasser is currently ranked second in the NEWMAC in complete games (10), third in ERA (1.15) and wins (10) and fourth in strikeouts (69).

No. 25 MIT (20-4) welcomes Tufts University to Cambridge for a non-conference doubleheader tomorrow afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m. from Briggs Field.
