Kelly McManus is entering her second year as an assistant coach for the Engineers. She is a graduate of Bates College, where she was a four-year starter for the Bobcats as a shortstop, third baseman and outfielder. McManus broke the single-season record and career record for sacrifices in 2012, was fourth all-time in career runs and eighth all-time in career singles. McManus was also a member of the Bobcat field hockey team.
Aside from athletics, McManus received a degree in psychology in 2012 with two concentrations in Chinese culture and society as well as anthropology. She wrote her thesis on how athletes get in the zone.
McManus has coached many softball and field hockey camps and is now working at an elementary school in Brighton, where she works with special needs students.
