May 3, 2006

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - On Wednesday, Leah Bogsted became the second player in the history of the MIT softball program to earn back-to-back all-conference awards after she was named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Second Team. Last year, she was chosen as the Rookie of the Year and received First-Team plaudits. Colleen Kaiser was the first to accomplish this feat with a pair of NEW 8 honors in 1993 and 1994. Bogsted finished the year ranked second in the conference with 144 strikeouts and set a new Institute career standard with 315.
