CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Juniors Anna Kokensparger (Omaha, Neb.) and Wyatt Ubellacker (Georgetown, Ky.) were named the women's and men's Swimmers of the Week, respectively, by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC). Kokensparger helped lead the Cardinal and Gray to victories over Wellesley College, Babson College and Bowdoin College last week while Ubellacker and the MIT men downed Babson and Bowdoin on Saturday.
Kokensparger had 4 individual and 3 relay wins in a pair of meets this week. In a 187-113 win over Wellesley on Wednesday, Kokensparger had times of 2:09.31 in the 200 fly and 2:10.38 in the 200 IM. The junior was also on the winning 200 medley relay (1:49.72). On Saturday, in a tri-meet with Babson and Bowdoin, the Kokensparger took first in the 200 free (1:55.14) and 100 fly (58.13) while swimming the 400 free (3:39.74) and 400 medley (4:02.30) relays.
Ubellacker won a pair of events and was on two winning relay teams at Saturday' meet at Bowdoin. Ubellacker had NCAA "B" cut times in the 50 free (20.88) and 100 fly (49.99). He also swam on the victorious 400 free (3:09.89) and 400 medley (3:26.75) relays.
Tech will be off this week before returning to the pool for its own home invitational on Friday and Saturday, December 2-3.
