AS A JUNIOR IN 2008-09: Became only the third MIT swimmer in history to cross the English Channel. She completed the grueling 21-mile swim on July 28th, 2008, finishing in 11 hours, 12 minutes.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2007-08: Recorded her first Top-8 finish at NEWMACs, finishing 7th in the 400 IM, swimming a collegiate best time of 4:54.90 in the preliminaries. The time is the 8th fastest in Institute history. A member of the "B" 800 Free Relay at NEWMACs which placed 12th. Also placed 15th in the mile. Swam to a critical 4th place finish in the 1000 at MIT's dual meet against Wheaton in December, contributing to MIT's slim 10 point victory. Her time of 11:21.93 is the 7th fastest in school history.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2006-07: Made a strong showing in her first NEWMAC championships--placing top-16 in all three of her individual events--200 IM (14th), 400 IM (11th), and 200 Back (12th), swimming collegiate-best times in all three. Was also a member of the preliminary 400 Free Relay team, splitting a 57.28. At the Bowdoin/Babson meet in November, placed 3rd in the 200 Breast with a collegiate-best time of 2:40.79 and was a member of the "A" 200 Free Relay, in which she split a collegiate-best 26.79.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letter-winner at Penn High School in Mishawaka, IN...a three-time South Bend City sectional champ and Indiana state-qualifier (100 breast, 2003; 400 Free Relay, 2004-05)...also a state-qualifier in the 400 Free Relay in 2003 and the 200 Medley Relay in 2005...selected to an All-Conference team 11 times in six different events.

CLUB: Penn Aquatic Club, Head Coach Andy Scuppham (2002-present), holds several team records; Racer-X Swim Club, Head Coach Linc Divane (2001); Knollwood Lasers Swim Club (1997-2000).

PERSONAL: Born October 16, 1988 to David Bennett and Sun Hong only child...lists her proudest collegiate moment as swimming her then-college-best in the 400 IM (4:56.67) while beating all the swimmers from Wheaton at the 2007 Wheaton/Smith meet...a Course 8 (Physics) major with a possible double major in mathematics and minor in history.
