AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007-08: Provided important backstroke support to the Tech line-up. At NEWMACs, scored a Top-8th finish in the 200 Back (2:19.53). Also scored individual points for the Engineers with an 11th-place finish in the 100 Back. A critical member of four of Tech's "B" relays. Led off the 200 Medley Relay, which placed 12th, and the 400 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay, and 400 Free Relay, which all placed 11th, ahead of all other "B" relays. Placed 18th in the 50 Free. Also a member of MIT's varsity soccer team, earning Rookie of the Year honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: A two-sport athlete (swimming and soccer) for Elizabethtown Area High School...swam under Coach Angela Warner...competed in district finals all four years...was twice named team Highest Point Scorer and Big "E" Booster Club Most Outstanding Athlete...a co-captain as a senior.

CLUB: Elizabethtown Aquatic Club (EAC), coached by Bryan Waldron and Ken Chandler (2004-2007), and Mike Guinivan (1998-2004); Willowood Swim Team (1998-2007). Made Junior Olympic cuts in 7 events

PERSONAL: Born March 31, 1989 to David and Renee Hernley...has two brothers--Paul, a Chemical Engineer and water polo player at Clemson University, and John...father was a Division I wrester for Franklin & Marshall College...lists her proudest collegiate moment as making the championship finals at NEWMACs in the 200 Back...A Course 2 (Mechanical Engineering) Major.
