AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2007-08: In season, led off the 400 Free Relay at the Wheaton/Smith meet with a collegiate-best time of 56.99. The relay out-touched the Wheaton team by .07 seconds and clinched the victory for the Engineers. Secured a crucial top-8 finish in the 200 Breast on the final day of NEWMACs with a preliminary time of 2:35.50, ultimately placing 8th. Also placed 11th in the 100 Breast (1:12.09) and 15th in the 200 IM (2:18.53). Swam on the prelim 400 Free and 400 Medley Relays for the Engineers.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letter-winner at Prospect High School, in Saratoga, CA...qualified for CIF--Central Coast Section championships all four years.

CLUB: Swam for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics (DACA) with MIT teammate Sasha Brophy...coached by Tammy Hopkins, Sage Hopkins, and Jerry Koch for four years.

PERSONAL: Born February 2nd, 1989 to Anne-Marie and Neil Smith...has a 13-year old brother, a fish, and a lamb...is a classical guitarist and has competed at national and international music competitions...lists her proudest collegiate moment as swimming the 1000 for the first time and thoroughly enjoying it...a Course 2 (Mechanical Engineering) Major.
