Quisenberry Named NEWMAC Singles Player of the Week

Cambridge, Mass. -- MIT freshman superstar Lauren Quisenberry has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's singles tennis player of the week for the week ending October 17th.

Quisenberry finished up her NEWMAC conference regular singles play with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Catherine Teague of Wheaton College. Lauren went undefeated in NEWMAC conference play at number 1 singles (record of 7-0) without dropping a set.

At this past weekend's NEWITT tournament, Lauren had an impressive 3-1 record in singles, defeating opponents from Bowdoin, Clark, and Middlebury, while in doubles, she and partner Julia Hsu defeated opponents from Bowdoin, Clark, Middlebury, and Wellesley.

This is the third time this season that Quisenberry has been named as the singles player of the week and the fifth time she finds herself in the conference awards section. She has also been honored twice with Hsu as the NEWMAC doubles pair of the week.
