MIT Seeded No. 2 For NEWMAC Tournament
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After a strong run through New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference play, the No. 22 MIT women's tennis team will be the No. 2 seed at the NEWMAC women's tennis tournament next week. The Engineers earned the second seed in the tournament after finishing conference play with a 6-1 record after defeating defending NEWMAC champion Wheaton College yesterday.
As the No. 2 seed, MIT earns a bye into the semifinal round where the Engineers will play No. 3 seed and tournament host Babson College on October 22 at 2:00 p.m. A win would put MIT into the finals on October 23 at 1:00 p.m. The Engineers defeated the Beavers earlier this season, 9-0.
Last year at the NEWMAC tournament MIT fell to Wellesley College in the semifinals, 5-2. The complete schedule for the tournament is listed below.
